Lançamento Nacional do Mehari e Algumas Notícias

No dia 14/10/2009 ocorreu em Belo Horizonte-MG o vôo inaugural da aeronave acrobática unlimited CEA-309 MEHARI. Projeto do CEA, liderado pelo professor Paulo Iscold e encomendado pelo piloto Marcos Geraldi, que participou de todas as etapas do projeto contribuindo com sua visão prática e com suas críticas construtivas. Amigo da instituição já há algum tempo, Marcos acreditou e bancou o projeto desde a primeira idéia.

O Mehari é uma aeronave pautada na filosofia de solução mínima de projeto, fielmente defendida por nosso mentor Cláudio Pinto de Barros, na qual um projeto deve atender às sua especificações buscando-se o menor peso, tamanho e custo possível. Possui excelentes características operacionais e de manutenção (como exemplo, é possível desmontar a asa para transporte em 15 minutos), estrutura eficiente, custo e peso bem abaixo dos aviões da mesma categoria, conseguindo velocidades, razão de subida, taxa de rolamento e relação peso-potência compatíveis.

Nos últimos 3 meses ocorreram ensaios em vôo com o objetivo de expandir o envelope de segurança da aeronave bem como checar todos os sistemas. Veja a filmagem abaixo editada de alguns ensaios em vôo realizados no aeroporto de Conselheiro Lafaiete-MG, onde se encontra o hangar do CEA-UFMG.

Nesta semana, o piloto Marcos Geraldi se encontra em Ocala - Florida - USA treinando com o piloto Nikolay Timofeev em seu Sukhoi 29. Nikolay é tri-campeão mundial unlimited, sendo um dos pilotos de teste do famoso Sukhoi 26; ele já manifestou interesse em conhecer o Mehari pessoalmente.

Mehari National Release and Some News

The inaugural flight of the unlimited aerobatic aircraft CEA-309 MEHARI occurred on 10/14/2009 in Belo Horizonte-MG-Brazil. CEA's project, with the leadership of professor Paulo Iscold and sponsored by its pilot Marcos Geraldi, who has participated in all the project steps, contributing with his practical eye and good critics. Friend of the instituition for a long time indeed, he believed and supported this project since the very first idea.

The Mehari is an aircraft guided on the Minimum Solution filosophy, truly supported by our mentor Cláudio Pinto de Barros, in which one's project must attend its specifications searching for the minimum weight, size and cost. It has excellent operational and maintenance characteristics (as an example, it is possible to detach the wing for transportation within 15 minutes), efficient structure, cost and weight well bellow the aircrafts for the same category, achieving compatible speeds, rate of climb, rolling rate and power loading within the unlimited category.

On the last three months, some flight tests have happened in order to expand the safety envelope and to check all the systems. See the edited footage below, taken from some flight tests that took place on Conselheiro Lafaiete - MG airport, place of the CEA-UFMG hangar.

This week, pilot Marcos Geraldi is in Ocala - Florida - USA training with mister Nikolay Timofeev on a Sukhoi 29. Nikolay is three times unlimited aerobatic world champion and was one of the test pilots of the famous Sukhoi 26; he already expressed interest in seeing the Mehari personally.
