K-51 Flight Tests

Today is Sunday, 6:30AM and everybody is already waked-up in CEA's hangar, pushing K-51 out surrounding by a wonderful sunrise. K-51 is a airplane designed and build by Mr. Joseph Kovacs, former designer from EMBRAER and responsible for Tucano's project. K-51 arrived in CEA's hangar in the begin of last November in order to perform a flight test campaign but due our involvement in CEA-308 and holiday's appointments, only last week we were able to start it's campaign. Otávio Kovacs, son of Mr. Kovacs, and former EMBRAER test pilot arrived in Belo Horizonte last Monday and we drove directly to Conselheiro Lafaiete. It is not necessary to describe how much work we had this week, but is always important to cite that we had the same amount of fun. But I am posting something here just to describe what happens yesterday. We had the opportunity to join the two most successful airplanes designers in Brazil, with one of their creations, in front of our hangar. Mr Kovacs and Prof. Cláudio Barros, funder of CEA. It was a pleasure to be here and to be part of this moment!
